CAN BUILDINGS CURATE


According to the curators of this show, the young architectural practice Newbetter, ‘The modern gallery setting remains a contentious, inspirational and problematic cultural battleground.’ Can Buildings Curate Is an exhibition of artist commissions and architectural projects that collectively seek to challenge and explore this terrain in the appropriate context of the old Poundstretcher shop.
Projects included come from Dee Ferris, Neal Rock, Mathieu Copeland, David Cunningham, Sebastian Roux, Décosterd + Rahm, OMA/Rem Koolhaas, Diller+Scofidio, SANAA (Sejima/ Nishizawa), RßSie, AS-IF, Hirsch/Müller, Davide Bertocchi, Cerith Wyn Evans, Goshka Macuga, Cai Guo-Qiang, Barbara Vanderlinden, Igor Zabel.


Can Buildings Curate comes to LOT from the Architectural Association, London. The show is supported by Art Review, Harmon Pro, ICON, The Elephant Trust, Pro Helvetia, Arts Council of Switzerland.
